Haircuts...

Both of the boys needed to get their hair cut, it's was something we had been talking about doing for WEEKS, just never got to it..... Nolan's was pretty long and i LOVED it,  he needed to get it cleaned up especially in the back as he was starting to get a "mullet"... EEK !!

So Frankie was going to cut the boys hair, as i sent Nolan up stairs dad didn't know you had already gone up there and he was pre-occupied in another room... You decided to go into the bathroom and found the the clippers... Ya you know what is next..... You got the clippers and attempted to cut your hair YOUR SELF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See the cut you did... Turned on the clippers, and went at it.... Guess that is what WE get for not being with you when you went up stairs... It was funny to me, especially since you were the 1st out of all 3 to cut your own hair..

Amazing Life

So today was my grandmothers 86th Birthday... Yes, 86 !!  She is such an amazing person, mom, wife, grandma, great grandma.... This lady gave birth to 13, yes 13 kids !! Can you imagine ?? Think about it... being pregnant 13 times  (and you thought YOU had stretch marks), being in labor 13 times, having sleepless nights with a newborn 13 times over, nursing 13 babies ( um, hello saggy boobs !!  Poor lady, never got a boob job... don't think she cared.. lol ! )   One great thing about having that many kids, is by the time you have the younger children you already have built in babysitters.... Hello, Free Date nights !!!

We didn't really see my dad's side of the family a lot when i  was younger, but when we did she sure made you feel welcome. She is such a caring loving soul, and always so positive. She has had more then her share of medical issues, has been in and out of the Hospital more then i can think of.  But what impresses me so much about her, is she could be sitting in the hospital wearing a bib so she doesn't get food all over her when you ask "How are you doing ?" Her response is always "I'm doing GREAT"... I mean really, i remember going to visit her while she was in the hospital for her last stroke, she could barely move her left arm, actually her whole left side wasn't functioning like she needed / wanted. and she was doing "GREAT ?" She had to be fed for the first few days, couldn't take a bath or shower by her self, was wearing diapers, had to be taken care of like a baby does and she was doing "GREAT"... Amazing isn't it !!  I get a headache and i feel horrible.. Like i said, she is an amazing woman !!

I don't get down to her house as much as i would like to, but sure do love the times i do get to see her....

If you counted the kids in the above photo, you would have counted 12 kids not 13 like i said she had... The bottom photo is my dad, The 13th child that is missing from the above photo...

My dad's name was Mike, i say was since he passed away 11-13-1999.

Menu Board

I have been making weekly menu plans for a while now, and love having it set for the week.. Makes it so easy to eat more at home as well as the coupon clipping i do...I have always just wrote the meals on a eraseable board that was posted on our fridge... Untill NOW !! I vaguly remember seeing this on a blog, but since i have been looking at so many lately i can't remember which one it's from.. If you have seen it on a blog, please let me know so i can give credit where credit is due....

Could have been a cheaper craft if i would have taken the time to search for a Picture frame from a thrift store, but i was on a "Instant Gratification" type project....

better late then never...

 I always thought i was going to be that mom.. You know the one who has it all together... BAH !  I would Never let my kids mess up the car, no way would you find old food wrappers, drinks, toys, clothes or trash in MY car... Who would let their kids do that..... ME !!!!  Yep before i had kids, i was THE PERFECT parent, and now have learned almost  years after my first child was born there is NO perfect Mom  Parent....

So here is start a little late on the Blog bandwagon.. But never did i really understand WHY others blogged their family lifes.. I mean they are very interesting to read. I follow a few and love reading them, just thought that has to be a lot of work and for WHAT ?  After reading a family blog today it totally made sense to me. Now i can record our daily life, something i thought i was going to do before i had kids... The thought of getting out the Baby's memory book so i can write down the cute things my child did was a great idea... And that is all it ended up being, an IDEA and not a reality.  So since i spend wayyy to much time on the computer, at least i can do something productive....
